OUR OTHER ACTIVITIES OF BIPEA

EXTERNAL REFERENCE MATERIAL

M.R.E = échantillons issus d'un circuit

SAMPLE ISSUED FROM THE PROFICIENCY TESTING SCHEMES AFTER VALIDATION

For several years, Bipea has put at its members' disposal samples coming from inter-laboratory proficiency testing schemes.

They are called "External Reference Material" according to the documentation booklet FD V 03-115 which defines them as reference materials, the consensus values of which have been determined after inter-laboratory tests.

These additional samples, which have been prepared for proficiency testing schemes, are firstly available for members under the following conditions
:

1 Put up for sale after validation of the reference values by the chairman of the proficiency testing schemes and delivery of the inter-laboratory comparison report.

2
Respecting the time limits for samples conservation. That is to say :

Proficiency Testing Schemes

Validity

15-Soil

2 years

01-02-13-20-21-25

2 years

34/52- Waters : Chemical Analysis

6 months under conditions

Other proficiency testing schemes

1 year & 1 month

These limits have been determined from the sample stability tests or the commonly admitted stability of the matrices.

This service is unavailable for proficiency testing schemes n°35 - 50 (Waters : microbiology), the absence of stability of which is obvious. For these P.T.Schemes, Bipea propose additionnal samples sale by series and send with the P.T.S. samples.

3 Depending on the available stocks.

So, these samples, kept in adapted conditions (cold storage rooms, cellars (wine and spirits) or freezing), profit of the same qualities of homogeneity.

Their tariffing, depending on expedition areas, for the Campaign 2008/2009, has been communicated to members in registration files. Please, notice that under certain conditions, these MRE may be accessible to non-members.

POSSIBLE SUPPLY AGREEMENTS

In order to plan and to take into account the strong evolution of the ERM demand, Bipea suggest you a yearly contract for the supplying of these samples. It will intitle you to an exceptional reduction and you will be sure of receiving the samples that you ordered. For more information contact Ludovic PIROT at the following address : lpirot@bipea.org

YOUR SPECIAL INTERLOCUTOR

For all sample demands, you can send a mail to Anna ADEREK , who is in charge of following these sales through. For single samples, you can specify :

· The proficiency testing scheme number and the trial month

· The proficiency testing scheme number and the discounted parameters

· Only the proficiency testing scheme number.

SUPPLING OF YOUR ACCURACY MONITORING CHART

MONITORING CHART : A PERSONNALIZED HELP COMPLEMENTARY
TO THE PROFICIENCY TESTING SCHEMES

Participating to a PTS, is controlling the accuracy of your analysis result. You will receive punctual and periodic information about the different samples at each test: it is the interlaboratory comparisons report. But you have to follow this accuracy by a graph interpretation, for a given criterion, of the difference to the reference value function of time. It is the aim of the monitoring chart.

The advantages are numerous:

It is a tool for supervision and help to the decision

It can quickly show gaps which do not correspond to a lack of accuracy, for example:

  • Slow and continuous drift (going up or down)
  • Biais systématique
  • Matrix Effect Matrice

For an audit, or for any other interlocutor, your monitoring chart allows you to visualize quickly the results witihin an interlaboratory test, and for the selected criterion, to be able to show the efficiency of eventual corrective actions.
You can download an example file by clicking on that link (Excel format).

CUSTOM WORKS

CUSTOM WORKS ARE AN ADAPTED ANSWER TO A PARTICULAR NEED
OF MANUFACTURERS OR GROUPS OF LABORATORIES

Custom Works are a field of activity of Bipea which is in great expansion. They are particular proficiency testing schemes (punctual or little recurrent), which are organized on request of a group of laboratories, or of an interprofessional or industrial group, in order to answer their needs.

    · Quality control of a group of laboratories

    · Checking of methods

    · Characterization of methods (ISO 5725) : estimation of the accuracy of a method in validation

    · Statistical study of results

    · Supplying of internal reference materials

    · And so on...

These Custom Works may concern only a part or the whole organization of these proficiency testing schemes :

    · Supplying of raw materials

    · Manufacturing of samples

    · Sending

    · Statistical treatment of results

    · Distributing of results

Each step can be made by Bipea or by the organizer according to the organizer's decision.

For these C.W., matrices, analyzed parameters, repetitions and methods are defined in close cooperation between the organism or the applicant manufacturer and the Bipea's concerned services (Manufacturing, Scientific and Technical, and Statistical Treatment Services).

CUSTOM WORKS : YOUR INTERLOCUTOR

After a meticulous definition of the specific needs of the project, an estimate which integrates the furnishing (performances) level and vastness supplied by Bipea will be drawn up.

If you want more details about these activities, please ask to Bruno BERKEN, who will personally supervise technically and financially each project.

TRAINING SESSIONS

Stages : une formation professionnelle adaptée

BIPEA IS ENABLED TO ORGANIZE TRAINING SESSIONS THAT ARE PERFECTLY SUITED FOR ITS FIELD OF ACTIVITY.

These training sessions are integrated in its natural vocation of helping its members. They are organized on their demand, they offer an answer to a mutually defined need and they have to make a logical complementation to trial campaigns.

These training sessions are run by Bipea but dispensed by one or several famous experts of the concerned field.

Generally, they are :

· Either theoretical trainings on a technical or professional subject

· Or practical trainings on a technical subject, including practical works in suitable buildings.

OTHER TRAINING SESSIONS IN PREPARATION

· Actually, no training in preparation.

TRAINING SESSIONS : YOUR INTERLOCUTOR

For any indication or further information about these training sessions, please contact Rémy Autran from the Scientific and Technical Service.

We stay entirely open to any suggestion and we will carefully deal with it.
